- Jul 06, 2018 -

Household electric heaters include electric stoves, rice cookers, electric woks, electric irons, electric ovens, and the like. The electric resistance wire of the electric heating device is made of nickel-chromium alloy and can be used at temperatures above 800 °C. Since the power of the electric heating appliance is generally large, improper use may cause a fire.

The cause of fire caused by electric heating appliances is caused by the carelessness of the user, the unattended operation of the energized appliance, and the placement of the electric heating appliance in the vicinity of flammable and combustible materials. The measures to prevent fires in electric heating appliances are as follows:

1. In the process of using the electric heating appliance, it must be taken care of, and it must not be left in the middle. When the person leaves, the power must be cut off. Especially in the case of power failure during use, do not forget to unplug the plug, any power will cause a fire.

2. For high-power electric heating appliances, a separate switch fuse should be used. It is not advisable to use a plug because direct plugging and unplugging can easily cause short circuit and arcing. It is not allowed to be directly plugged into the socket of the lamp holder. Because it is easy to generate heat and cause an accident under conditions of the current of the lamp holder exceeds 3 amps. The safety current carrying capacity of the wire connecting which connects heating appliance must meet the capacity requirements of the electric heating appliance. The rubber insulated wire should not be used as the power supply lead, but the rubber insulated sheathed cord can be used.

3. Electric heating appliances should be placed on the base of non-combustible materials such as mud bricks and asbestos boards. Do not place them directly on the table or platen to avoid burning and igniting. Keep using or using uncooled heating appliances away from flammable and combustible materials.

4. Electric heating appliances should not be installed in places with flammable gases, flammable liquid vapors and combustible dust.

5. Do not bake clothes on electric heating equipment.

6. Daily attention should be paid to the maintenance of electric heating appliances. Before use, it is necessary to check whether the equipment is in good condition. When the power supply lead of the heating appliance is found to be damaged, aged or the switch, plug and fuse are incomplete, it is not allowed to be used.
